Well that all went a little bit mental

blog

I’ve been blogging for years, in one form or another it’s probably approaching a decade since I first started writing what could be described as a blog.

However, although I’ve put finger to keyboard and keyboard to blog post for nearly a decade – I have gone weeks and sometimes months without actually writing anything new.

The majority of blame for my long absences from writing fall at the feet of Twitter and Facebook.

But, in all those absences I haven’t closed the blog, I haven’t removed access – it’s still been available to view – even if it was old.

Then, for some insane reason, for about a week my blog disappeared – the nice new Traction theme replaced with a Fast CGI Error.

The error came about a day after I installed WordPress 3 – this worked fine at first then one morning I turn it on the check my messages and ‘bang’ it’s gone.

I tried removing all the plugins to see if that was the problem – it wasn’t.

I tried removing all but the default theme to see if that was the problem – it wasn’t.

I then tried re-upgrading WordPress 3 to see if that would solve the problem – it didn’t.

So finally I downloaded the site in ftp, uploaded a clean install of WordPress, replaced the config file, uploaded just my theme of choice – Traction Pro and added only the plugins I use.

That finally worked. So here I am, back blogging about the fact that I haven’t been blogging – bet you missed that crap.

On the subject of blogging – I now have a blog under the BBC Blogs network called the BBC Jersey Blog. Check it out.
