Queen and Top Gear in weird merged moment
On the run up to a new series of Top Gear the more hardcore fans loitering on the Final Gear forums start to get a little bit strange, suffering from withdrawal and desperation.
OK we’re not THAT bad, we do know it’s only a TV show but there are also only so many times you can watch the same shows over and over and over again.
So, in a bored bid to find ‘something’ new to talk about Laba posted a thread on the forum wondering whether people agreed with him that Top Gear bore a striking resemblance to Queen.
Laba, who’s from Finland said: “First of all I think Brian May (guitarrist) resembles James May a lot. They look quite alike and their hair is pretty similar. They are both brainy: Brian is a commendable astrophysicist PhD and James knows his math and physics as we all know.
“Plus they’re both musically talented: Brian obviously is gifted as hell and James has a degree in piano. I really bet they are cousins or something as they even have the same last name. Does anyone know if they are related…?”
I personally think this is the closest – although not the funniest – link of the three.
Then, Laba goes on to suggest that Queen drummer Roger Taylor bears a similarity to Richard Hammond – what with the scruffy hair, puppy eyes and white teeth.
And finally the funniest of the three is Jeremy Clarkson who Laba sees as – who else – Freddie Mercury.
“They’re both charismatic, shouty blokes with big plans and egos, although it is said that Freddie was like that only on stage, but I don’t think Jeremy shouts POWERRR everytime he uses the food blender in his house either… (unless it’s a V8 one) They are both also the Front men of their groups and Freddie had a Rolls so their car taste is the same.”
What do you think?
