Films this weekend
September 26, 2008 by upyourego
As I’ve already mentioned a few times - I’m pretty busy at the moment - in fact I’m painfully busy. I’ve got so many things to do I’m contemplating time travel - if only!
Just to show you I’m still alive I thought I’d share with you some of the films I’m going to see for work between now and Sunday Night and then trying to find something to write about them (without it being a review).
The reason it can’t be a review is because the BBC has a no review policy, in fact it also has a no preview policy as well on the BBC Local sites.
I’m going to all the films as part of the Branchage Jersey International Film Festival thats taking place this weekend - it’s one of the biggest and high profile festivals (with the exception of Jersey Live possibly) to happen here.
Because of the no review rule I’ve had to find films that I can turn into a locally relevant feature. When I went to Man on Wire last night my feature focused on the fact that it was at the Jersey Opera House (theatre) and was the first film shown there in 50 years.
It also (it was written at midnight) talked about the ‘experience’ of cinema and enjoying the environment, atmosphere and history.
So here is what I’m going to over the weekend. There is nothing stopping me writing a review on here - so if I find time I’ll see what I can do.
