OK I know it’s all fashionable and cool to write about Twitter, push your Twitter address and generally prostitute yourself in the name of publicity - but I’m still going to do it.
I joined Twitter about 18 months ago and wrote my first Tweet on 10 January 2007 and in that time I’ve so far submitted 462 posts of 140 characters or less.
My first tweet simply said ” I saw a bee today. Not an unusual site if it were April or May but we’re still in the early part of January!”
But just 462 tweets in 18 months of twittering isn’t a particularly good record and until about two weeks ago I only had 50 followers as well.

That works out at about 25 tweets a month, 7 tweets a week or roughly one tweet a day. Of course some days I’ve written 7 or 8 tweets and others I haven’t written anything - in fact there are month long gaps in my Twitter Archive.
However - just over two weeks ago - several months after a rapid increase in the services popularity I decided to start using the service more.
In that time, the last two weeks, I’ve gone from around 50 followers to just 9 short of 200! And THAT is what I want to talk to you about.

I also promise this will be my last piece of social media prostitution.
