Fry on Digital Media
May 20, 2008 by upyourego
I have a blog post in draft that asks whether it is time for us to start accepting that digital content actually does have a value and that we should all be prepared to pay something for it.
It’s on hold because 1) it’s controversial and 2) I haven’t had time to write and research it properly.
But this video is part of the background to the article idea. It features Stephen Fry suggesting that the BBC needs the money it gets, why the BBC deserves the money it gets and that we should make the most of what we’ve already got.
In a previous piece he talked about digital media, the BBC iPlayer and the concept of giving everything away for free - but this piece is a heartfelt plea for the wonder of the BBC.
