Top Gear back June 22

I haven’t been able to find confirmation of this anywhere else yet - but according to posters on the Final Gear Forums it looks like mine and your favourite car related entertainment show will be back on 22 June 2008.

HANDS UP WHO GOT THE DATE WRONG?

Yup I did but only because the official Top Gear magazine also jumped the gun by a week - the actual date of the return of the greatest car based entertainment show on TV is 22 June 2008.

The archive story

The confirmation seems to have come from the Top Gear Magazine Newsletter - for some reason I didn’t get my copy this month - or at least haven’t received it yet.

But the important bit seems to be within a promo for the Video Vault on the Topgear.com website.

“VIDEO VAULT
If you can’t wait until June 15 for the new series of Top Gear to start on BBC Two, then hit up our video section for some withdrawal”

Actually it is worth visiting the video vault as it has a great selection of Top Gear videos - including some never seen before and extended versions of the news from the last series.

But I digress - I got the story thanks to the Final Gear forums and the first post seems to be from TEGBOY at 11.11 this morning.

The trick now is to keep an eye on bbc.co.uk/pressoffice and topgear.com for details of what’s going to be in the new series.

Might also be worth watching bbc.co.uk/topgear as I have a feeling it’s going to get a re-design to bring it inline with the new look for BBC sites.

So we now have about six weeks to wait until the start of the new series. What do do in the meantime?
