The Great British Adventure

I love watch Oz Clarke and James May when they’re on screen together - the two shows they’ve done so far have been both heartwarming and funny as well as charming and disturbing - all at the same time.

In the first series, the Big Wine Adventure, the two ‘lads’ toured the wine regions of France where Oz set out to teach James about wine.

In the second series James new a LOT about Wine already - this time Oz aimed to teach him about Californian wine and give him a taste for the more expensive variety.

The Press Release says “After two series of sipping at the font of Oz Clarke’s wine wisdom, James May can tell his Riesling from his Rioja, identify a Californian Chardonnay at 20 paces and describe the plummy nose of a Shiraz without gritting his teeth.”

Now in their third series they’re moving away from wine. They’re going to carry over some of the aspects of the Californian adventure like going to small time producers but will be looking for the ultimate British home-grown tipple.

Again back to the Press Release we find out that “this time, the duo are embarking on a tour of the UK on a quest to find the perfect home-grown tipple, from bitter to lager, cider and whisky. ”

The working title for the new series is “Oz And James’s Big British Adventure” and it sounds like we’re in for some surprises.

Apparently, although James thinks he has the upper hand in this adventure, being more of a Beer buff than Oz - he soon discovers that Oz knows more than he previously let on.

I think, if nothing else we can expect plenty of bickering, banter and drinking as Oz and James go on their third road trip together.
