Top Gear is like…

A Party Election Broadcast by the Liberation Democrat Party, a series called Open Gardens, Bargain Hunt, Cash in the Attic and an election broadcast by the Welsh Conservative Party.

To explain - on iPlayer - if you watch a programme it gives you a list of programmes on the right hand side with the heading More Like This and the list above is what appears next to Top Gear.

Yup that’s right - the script or person that generates this list believes that Top Gear fans are also into gardening, antiques and vote for either the Conservatives or Liberal Democrats.

I can understand the gardening given that the TG Three completely screwed up Sir Steve Redgraves garden for Sports Relief - and even the antiques as James May is on the show but given comments on the show by ALL the hosts about the Liberal Democrats in the past - I don’t really get that one!

It either suggests a brilliant sense of humour on the part of the script writer/editor or complete and total crapness. Either way it’s funny.

I wanted to show a screen grab but by the time I went back to create one the list of shows had changed. Instead of gardens and antiques we now have rugby and the Apprentice.

In fact it isn’t even the Apprentice itself - it’s the You’re Fired, Apprentice extra featuring Adrian Chiles. Oh and there’s Question Time extra as well. I guess there is an assumption of political interest tied to Top Gear fans.
