Cop Gear

The Top Gear trio have taken on the world of stretch limos, space shuttles, caravan holidays and boating over the past few years and the vast majority of the time they fail miserably.

The ‘How hard can it be…’ challenges have become a brilliant feature of Top Gear over the last few years and always end in horrible failure – from planting rape seed for bio deisel to building car boats to cross the channel – it’s all great entertainment – very scripted entertainment but fun all the same.

The Sun has a rumour of a challenge likely to feature in the next series of Top Gear. According to the red top the Top Gear Trio will be taking on the world of Police Cars.

Having read all of Jeremy Clarkson’s books – it’s fairly obvious that the crap British police cars have long been a bug bear – so now they’re going to create the ideal British police car.

I don’t know exactly what form the challenge will take – whether it will be the three working together on a car or whether, and I imagine this is more likely, each of them creating their own police car and being given challenges to test their ability.

They’ve had police featured in Top Gear a number of times before but my favourite was DCI Stig chasing each of them driving a different getaway van. It was the episode that saw Richard Hammond, in a Rascal style van, flip it over.

A source told the Sun “the Top Gear lads have got some ideas so we’re going to put them to the test in the new series. It won’t exactly be Robocop, but it will be better than PC Plod’s Pandas.”

This sounds great fun but when is it coming back? According to Zoo Magazine Top Gear is coming back in June – which makes sense based on previous years but I’m not sure they know for certain – it could just be an educated guess.

Oh and here is a bigger version of the graphic above:

This sounds good, am looking forward to seeing it in the new series – any idea when it is scheduled to be shown?

Couldn’t believe it when Hammond actually rolled that van in the other show trying to get away from Stig.
