The pound note

I love pound notes and I really really hate pound coins. Having a pocket full of pound notes makes you feel rich - you can hold them in a bundle like a builder does but a pocket full of pound coins just makes a hole in your pocket.

I’m originally from England - I spent the first 18 years of my life in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire before moving to Jersey to move in with my now wife so pound notes weren’t known to me until about nine years ago.

And boy I was missing out - years of pocket holes, years of jangly noise and years of coiney horrible fingers. No more thank god - well unless I visit England as shops there don’t accept the Jersey Pound Note (or any Jersey note for that matter).

So my picture for today is the humble Jersey Pound Note - long may she continue - her and the Maggie Thatcher pretending to be the Queen on the front type of person - oh and the cow watermark - love the cow watermark.
