Thundercats

I was browsing the web the other day and I came across the Kids TV section on the Times website - it’s brilliant - a selection of features about … well Kids TV.

It’s got a selection of features covering fifty odd years of children’s TV here in the UK and from around the world. It has features about and on the subject and comments from people about their favourite shows.

Now the big problem with the section is that it’s targeting the main audience for the Times Online which is about a decade or so older than me - so a lot of the shows mentioned, although some had a cross over to my childhood, where before my time.

So here is the intro to my favourite show as a seven year old. I loved almost all kids TV as a child but had three favourite shows - Thundercats (as seen above) He-Man and Knightmare (as seen below).

It’s interesting to compare the shows I watched as a seven year old to the ones my daughter watches (she’s seven now) and it’s surprising how similar some of them are.

I loved Knightmare - a virtual reality show that involved kids doing challenges and she loves Raven - a real reality show that involves kids doing challenges.

I loved Thundercats - a cartoon about cats that fight evil and she loves Frankensteins cat - a show about a cat that was built by Frankenstein and is best friends with a young girl. I loved Newsround and so does she.
