All about the cow farts

March 3, 2008 by upyourego

Cows fart a lot and if you’ve ever been near a cow when it’s let rip you’ll know it isn’t a pleasant experience or a particularly nice thing to … smell.

The first time it happened I was walking to work down a long, narrow hill and passed a farm - the cows came right up to the fence at the edge of the road and one farted - the smell was horrible (no worse than mine after a veggie lasagne but still pretty revolting).

Having experienced the wonder of a cow farting first hand I wasn’t surprised when some scientists started suggesting cow farts cause global warming - slightly annoyed by people suggesting it was the main cause - but not surprised.

Which is why I nearly laughed out loud when I read a comment posted by phuckingduck on the Final Gear message board in relation to a story about Californian Schools possibly being made to teach Climate Change.

“As long as they mention the cow farts. Everyone who knows anything, knows that it comes down to cow farts.”

I think that’s a piece of advice we would all do well to remember and apply in every decision we make in our lives - especially if that decision involves going down a road next to a farm full of cows.

Slightly more sensible and media related posts to follow soon.
