Rest in Peace HD-DVD

I thought it worth throwing up an adapted version of the HD-DVD v Blu-Ray photo taken in Woolworths St Helier after the news that HD-DVD is finally dead.

Contrary to popular belief I’m not the sort of person that jumps on board the latest technology bandwagon the moment it’s released. I tend to wait until the tech is stable before spending my money.

I didn’t get a DVD player until they were under £150, I didn’t get an iPod until the Mini came out, I won’t get an iPod until at least version three and have so far put off getting a High Def TV.

When I do eventually get an Hi-Def TV the decision over whether to get High Def DVD was going to wait until one of the two leading formats had won through - now that HD-DVD is dead - that decision has just got a LOT easier.

Shame though - HD-DVD seemed like the better format.
