Safari on Windows
June 11, 2007
OK so thanks to a Twitter tweet from Doctorvee I’ve just installed Safari on my Windows XP desktop machine.
I wasn’t sure I liked the idea of it at first, I haven’t had the best experience with Apple Software on Windows - especially the first release.
But I bit the bullet and had a go - and I’m glad I did.
I’m running it as we speak and it’s SO much prettier than Firefox, Opera or IE7 (then again a rat in a blender is prettier than IE7).
Up until just now I’ve been using Flock because it’s flickr and blogging integration is incredible.
But I think I’m going to switch to Safari full time - not just because it’s a prettier interface but because it loads quicker and pages run faster.
There are several other little things as well - pages look better, the colours are sharper and you can pull down text boxes so they’re bigger (even if it isn’t implemented by the site).
Have you installed it yet? What do you think so far?

Hey upyourego,
Flock 0.9 is due out in about 5 weeks. Give us a try then…I’d love to see which browser comes out on top!

Safari is just my flavour of the month - I was using Flock right up until it came out.
I’m a big fan of Flock and have been using it for a while - although Safari doesn’t have the community and social features of Flock it IS faster and does have better colour management.
It also has neat things like the ability to extend all text areas - but I have to say I have missed the way flock lets me upload to flickr easily and blog.
