There is a news story on BBC News Online about the new Adobe Scratch application that lets people easily create their own cartoons and slap them up as a flash video file.
That’s all well and good but much more interesting is what the BBC News team have done with the article page. They’ve put the video of the creator explaining how it works embedded on the page - as a flash video.
Now THIS is how I think BBC News should handle all their video clips - either attached to a related story, at the top as flash video or in a special video feature but still as flash video.
Then they could even include links to embed the file on another site and use it their.
They’ve still got links to the Windows Media/Real Media versions of the video but the way they’ve placed the flash file at the top works really well.
