The iPod free weekend

A while ago I posted about my Net free day - I managed it and it wen’t without any problems, tantrums or nightmares - however my wife has asked me to do without something else.

My iPod.

That’s right my wife wants me to spend the whole four day weekend without Barry (that’s what I called my little nano) - no podcasts, no music, no radio (I have the radio adapter), no audiobooks and no Just a Minute (I’m slightly obsessed).

I’m going to have to spend four days listening and talking to my wife and children. She has basically said she wants me to listen and talk to her instead of half listening to her but putting most of my attention on whatever was playing on Barry.

I admit the iPod gets a LOT of use - any spare moment I have I listen to it - mainly because I’ve got so much brilliant content I need to maximise my time - so what the hell am I going to do during those down moments?

You know the ones - while washing up, on the toilet, walking between rooms, during the adverts, during the boring bits of TV shows, when there is nothing on television and while waiting to fall asleep in bed at night.

Also - as I have to leave it at work that means I have a 30 minute walk home with nothing to listen to - how boring!

I could just take it home and then hide it - but my wife has said if I bring it home and she finds it she’ll remove everything I’ve got on there and replace it with her stuff.

I’ve seen her iPod and her taste in music … well lets say it’s a bit much calling it a taste!
