Tagging tweets
March 26, 2007 by upyourego
Doctorvee has an interesting post on ways he thinks Twitter can be improved and one way that the service is very useful. I suggest you give it a read.
His main suggestion is for tags to be included so you can assign keywords to each tweet. The idea being that, if you want to use Twitter to live blog something like Formula 1 your twitter friends not into cars going around a bit of tarmac can just block formula 1 tweets.
I think the idea of tagging tweets is a good one, for more reasons than just the ability to block messages on fast cars. It would, among other things allow you to bring about useful permalinks.
You can easily then find a selection of Tweets on a subject by building a querystring that asked for every tweet tagged with formula-1 by doctorvee between 2007-03-20 and 2007-03-26.
Also - I’d like to be able to include my Twitter posts on my blog in the same way they’re included on my Tumblog (howtobeageek.net) - basically as a mini post but haven’t worked out how yet.
So far my tweets sit in a big box on the top right of the page.
