Film Reviews

March 17, 2007 by upyourego

I have a dozen or so posts half started and sitting in my Drafts list - I’ll get round to finishing them eventually but in the meantime I have a question for you.

In a few weeks I’m going to start a weekly film review slot on BBC Radio Jersey - basically once a week I’ll go on air to talk about the films I’ve seen that week and give an opinion of them and films I haven’t seen to say what else is on.

The question I have is - should I write the review up for my blog so you can see what I think of the films (it is media related) or should I leave that to the hundreds of other geek film reviewers out there that would do a much better job than me?

As a former film reviewer for BBC Radio Jersey I say go for it. Just remember when you’re reviewing something to be appreciative of the target audience. Too many reviewers slate films that quite clearly aimed at them. See Andrew Davey’s reviews at http://www.channelonline.tv/ for example. He’s pretty good (and also used to do it for BBC Radio Jersey) and opinionated but fair.
