Grumpy Geeks

I’ve had an idea for a new social media website. I’ve started putting a content and structure overview together, I’ve got an idea for the design of the site but I’m a bit stuck in terms of developing it.

When it comes to the coding side I’m not well versed enough to get it off the ground - I can do basic stuff like set up a blog or message board but thats about my limit.

The site is at www.grumpygeeks.co.uk and am looking for a partner to help me develop it. It’s a social media site for the grumpier parts of the geek community.

A place where you can go, offload the moan, have other people talk about your moan, post your moan to your blog and then move on.

So if anyone with a bit of free time, a knowledge of PHP, the various coding technologies surrounding AJAX and an interest in the project wants to help out PLEASE email me - ryan@upyourego.com.

I want to make it an open community project so the more the merrier. I have design ideas in my head for the way it should look but am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

It’s been said that the ‘Geeks will inherit the Earth’. To an extent we already have. There are downsides to inheriting somewhere as screwed up as the Earth though.

These downsides make up the backbone of the grump industry. This is why GrumpyGeeks is being launched. A place for you to openly vent your frustrations at the world or to respond to someone elses frustrated vent.

The site will give you the chance write about something that annoys you in your own ‘personal space’ and then have it open to comment if you want to start a conversation.
