Getting bogged down
October 23, 2006 by upyourego
You’ve probably noticed Up Your Ego has gone from being updated two or three times a day to two or three times a week over the last couple of months - well you might have - well I like to think you might have anyway.
Basically I’ve been shockingly busy at work, found a mass of new shows on TV I’m into, some pretty good new podcasts to listen too and a wealth of books I’ve got building up on my shelf.
So something had to give under the weight of content overload and the blog was the easiest thing to reduce without facing shouts from my family, work or missing my favourite tv shows.
But since leaving the blog for dust and consigning it to a few quickly worded, slightly pointless posts a week for the last two months I’ve been getting more and more stressed with every day things and I blame this completely on not blogging my frustrations away.
Blogging has always been a form of therapy for me, a way of expressing opinions I don’t get the opportunity to do in the outside world, a chance to share my thoughts and feelings in an open forum where people are free to challenge or agree with them.
So Up Your Ego is going to go through a couple of changes over the next week or two. I’m going to move blogging back up my list of priorities and give Up Your Ego a much needed re-design at the same time.
The first change will be a new look and the idea behind the re-design will be to allow me to focus on one big story per day instead of trying to fill the first page with a couple of weeks worth of posts.
I’m going to run Up Your Ego more like a column in a newspaper than a blog with a daily post (roughly at the same time) with slightly more time spent on it than quick fixes to ‘get something out there’.
