British band go DRM free

As well as the usual CD and download versions, Keane are releasing their next single on Memory Stick.

As well as the song the stick will contain the music video for the track and probably other bits like screensavers and a link to the bands website.

The single will retail for £3.99 which is about the same price as a CD single or the same as and iTunes music download and music video download combined.

So for the same price as a CD single or iTunes download & music video you’re getting a song, a music video and a free 512mb Memory Stick.

Free memory stick aside the best bit of the whole deal is that Island Records, Keane’s label are releasing the track DRM FREE!!!

I’m not a big fan of Keane’s music, it’s a bit wishy washy for me but I think this is worth buying for the sake of showing the label we want music DRM free.
